New Cheshire County EMS Facility
Cheshire County, New Hampshire
Year completed: 2022
Square footage: 9,100 square feet
Estimated cost of construction: $1.4 million
Michael Petrovick Architects joined Cheshire County in their mission to introduce a county-operated EMS with 24/7 staffing to provide service to regional municipalities, employing 25-30 staff, with six to eight members per shift on site.
The former residential and commercial site was redeveloped with a new 3,600-square-foot building to provide six apparatus bays with support facilities. The 2,500-square-foot commercial building was rehabilitated to provide administrative offices and staff living quarters, including sleeping rooms for seven staff members, a day room, and a kitchen facility. The existing residence was rehabilitated and updated to provide temporary housing for traveling nurses who work for the County.
