CASE STUDY
Designing for Safety, Service, and Small-Town Spirit: How a rural New Hampshire community reimagined its fire station—and rallied around the future.
The Town of Westmoreland, New Hampshire’s 1956 fire station was no longer meeting the needs of its volunteer-run department. Outdated, undersized, and unsafe, the building presented daily challenges to first responders, limiting their ability to protect the community. Michael Petrovick Architects was brought in to design a solution—one that would not only meet current health and safety standards but also reflect the town’s historic character.
